Hello, I'm Julie Sun.

I'm a Chinese 🇨🇳 born Canadian 🇨🇦 Currently settled in London, UK. My family consists of my German partner and his two sons who are lovely older brothers to our 4-year-old son.

I'm a designer with 14+ years of experience employing design thinking into building digital products and services that are fit for purpose. I'm versed in user experience, service design, user research, storytelling, and UI design. A lot of my work involves distilling complexity and bringing clarity and focus to projects. I'm a big advocate for Equity Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I), user-centred design, and holistic approach to problem solving. I've a big believer of the power of words and that outcomes trump outputs always.

When I’m not working, I’m enjoy quality time with my son, family outings, Tennis, Zumba, walks and hikes, try new foods, and listen to podcasts like 99% invisible; A bit of optimism; Hidden Brain, Ted radio hour, Radiolab, The Knowledge Project, Worklife with Adam Grant while doing the never ending chores at home. My favourite newsletter is Dense Discovery by Kai. I love the curation of reads and thoughtful reflections on community, technology, and humanity.

Fun-ish fact(s): I was once (very briefly) a qualified Zumba dance instructor. I also currently hold a 2800+ day Duolingo streak learning German, Spanish and polishing up on my Japanese.
